OUR STORY
Tucked away on a quiet street right in the heart of the beautiful historic district of Hermann, Missouri, The Vinchester Inn, or “The Vin” as some of our friends call it, is a newly renovated 11-room boutique hotel. In March 2018, three sisters- Hannah, Lindsey and Madison- inherited the property from their dad, Rick, and along with Hannah’s husband, Miles, have lovingly and thoughtfully made it their own.
In 2021, Hannah and Miles moved to Hermann to become the full time owners/operators of the Vinchester. Chances are you’ll find them walking their pup, Nellie, or at one of their other properties in town: The Schiller House (a Bed & Beverage aka guest house), The Fancy Pheasant (a general store) and Evergreen (an event space).
Designed for the adventurous Hermann visitor, we want the Vinchester to feel like your home away from home. Rooms are simple, clean and comfortable, with details like historic Hermann photography, a corkscrew and Vinchester glassware, perfect for toasting to a fun weekend in wine country.
With well-appointed rooms, an amazing location and on-site event space, we’re proud to be one of Hermann’s most reasonable and comfortable places to stay. We are a five-minute walk from the Amtrak train station, 2 miles from the Katy McKittrick trailhead and within close walking distance to Hermann’s many restaurants, bars, shops, distilleries, and more.
WHAT’S WITH THE HATS?
Our dad, Rick Hessler, will always be the heart and soul of our little inn. As the innkeeper prior to us, he loved meeting and talking to new people, patronizing Hermann’s many watering holes and donning his lederhosen during Oktoberfest. He designed and made his original alpine-style hat years ago, using a grey herringbone fedora, old twine and pheasant tail feathers. In honor of him and his love of Hermann, we created replicas and started selling them around town. It stuck, and a new Hermann tradition was born. Pick one up in our lobby to accompany you on your winery touring. We’re not sure what it is, but we guarantee* you’ll have more fun while wearing one.
*Not actually guaranteed, there is no real way to prove this.
